Gospel Seen Through Lens of Law

 By Hazel Holland

In Adventism the glory of the new covenant gospel is seen through the lens of the law (Ten Commandments). Adventism has taken the ministry that brought death (Ten Commandments engraved in letters on stone) and that came with glory, and made it even more glorious that the ministry of the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:7-8).

In Galatians 3:23, Paul talks about the law being our schoolmaster. He says, “…we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.” In other words Paul is saying that while we were under law, we were children and were no different from slaves...

So we see that Adventism actually keeps us in childhood—slavery actually!

What’s more, because EGW is considered to be an authoritative source of truth that the corporate SDA church continues to promote, many Adventists remain in slavery to the law because of Ellen White’s insistence on glorifying the old covenant.

Because of this tragic error many Adventists have not been “changed from glory to glory.” Many Adventists have not experienced the freedom of the Spirit. Many Adventists cannot behold Christ because the veil of the law still blinds them (See 2 Corinthians 3:12-18).
